Biography

Joannes was born on or just before 7 January 1786 in Stiphout in the Netherlands as child of Goort van Dijk and Hendrina van Dijk - van Duynhove. He was baptized on 7 January 1786 in the Roman Catholic St. Trudo Church of Stiphout.^[1]

Joannes was a farm servant.^[2] He never married and passed away on 31 March 1843 in Mierlo at the age of 57.^[2]

Research Notes

• Joannes was baptized on 7 January 1786.^[1] In these times children were baptized as soon after birth as possible, to prevent that the child would die unbaptized (and could not go to heaven). Hence Joannes would have been born on 7 January 1786 or in the days before.
